Teaching

Teaching Experience

I am currently substitute teaching at Campbell Hall, one of Los Angeles's -and Hollywood's top K-12 schools. It feels good working again with kids. I am flattered that many bring their friends to my classes rather than sit in a study hall. I make learning whatever I am teaching, fun, relevant and challenging. I also foster participation in such a manner that the kids are huge contributors to my -our- classes. We all have fun and we all learn. I have also been taken up on my offer to work as a substitute-facilitator running many various other types of classes per teacher instructions, for middle school, junior high and the high school. I love and enjoy kids of all ages. Somehow, I find I can relate to them and they appreciate and respond to my efforts. It is very satisfying. In this very special school, I have the pleasure of working with many of Hollywood's very succfessful and best known young actors.

I started teaching as a grad student on fellowships at University of Connecticut, and Boston College. Later I became part time faculty in many of Boston's finest teaching institutions. I have over 10 years of university level teaching experience teaching university level French from 1977 - 1988 as described below. With additional teaching experience as a corporate trainer from 1997-2005 which gives me a total of about 19 years of teaching. As a corporate trainer, I wrote custom instructional materials, quick references and PowerPoint training presentations on how to run various customized business software packages. As a Y2K trainer (for migrations to new software for post 2000), I also wrote and taught computer basics about Microsoft PC operating systems and the basics about MS office products such as Word, Outlook and Lotus Notes. As a corporate trainer I was responsible for teaching thousands of staff, and always got rave reviews with great appreciation.
